The ASPA Conference is this week and although I am an experienced traveler, I am nervous. I will be part of the Ask an Expert roundtable sharing on my dissertation topic. It’s one thing to write furiously page after page about your passion in the dead of night. It’s quite another to bring your game out into the light of day as an “expert”. Exciting and terrifying at the same time.
At Walden the PhD program talks about “helping achieve my vision for positive social change… the process of creating ideas and strategies, and actions to promote dignity, and development of individuals and communities alike”. Somehow my first venture into the world of professional conventioning makes it all real. Maybe I will change the world.
